Akron Ale Fest Featured Brewery: Hansa Brewery

Who are you and what is your role at the brewery?

Corey Miller, Brewmaster.

Where did the idea for your logo come from?

The logo is suppose to be modern looking, but with a nod to German old school.

What is your favorite seasonal beer that's been released at your brewery lately?

My favorite seasonal bier of ours would have to be Mr. MeeSeeks - Blueberry Gose, which we'll be bringing to the festival. It's a great summertime bier that has been selling really well and the reference is a funny conversation starter.

What is your favorite thing in your brewery?

My favorite thing at Hansa, besides my whirlpool kettle that has helped with brewing a ton, would have to be the bar top itself. It's a giant piece of wood with the bark left intact that looks absolutely gorgeous to set your mug on.

What is your most recent milestone?

Our most recent milestone would be winning a Gold and Bronze medal at the U.S. Open, one of the world's largest Bier competitions. We won a Bronze for our Le Champ De Vesna - French Farmhouse Ale and a Gold with our Black Flag - SchwarzBier, which we'll be bringing to the festival.

What is your next major goal for the brewery?

My next goal for the brewery is to bottle a few one off biers and to maintain beer quality as always.

Lion, wolf, or dragon who will win and why?

A Dragon would definitely win. That's because they can fly and they're so damn lucky.
