Meet the Brewery: Royal Docks

Royal Docks is one of the newest breweries in Canton. They have a gorgeous tasting room and beer to match. My current favorite is One Sweet Dream! Make sure to get your ticket to the Akron Ale Fest in order to get to check out breweries like his first hand!

Who are you and what is your role at the brewery?

I'm John. My wife Adriana and I are passionate about Royal Docks.

What is the name of your brewery and how did it come about?

Royal Docks Brewing Company - Adriana and I lived in London for some time. For a year we lived in the Royal Docks area of London. We were having a brew on the Oiler Bar one evening and the name came to us... As we were looking East, the cranes came to sight and so did our logo.

What is your favorite beer that's been released at your brewery?

I must say it's London Signature. As goes with the current status, IPAs sell, but London Signature is what bring people back.

What is your favorite thing in your brewery?

For our opening, we had friends that came from all over the word. We have a door that needed a hole covered and my friend Nick came with a 2 Pound £ coin. So now the hole is covered.

What is your most recent milestone?

First dates, proposal on NYE, and soon a scheduled wedding... All three different couples. There is something special about this as Royal Docks is obviously enjoyable enough to these three couples, but also enough to share with their closest.

What is your next major goal for the brewery?

We've reached so many goals in the last 7 months... I think we are all excited about the 6 pack that is coming. It's simply something we can all look forward to. Back yard BBQ with a bunch of Royal Docks cans!

Bear vs. Shark who would win and why?

When was the last time you saw anything about a shark attacking or eating a bear? Bear all the way!

Drink of choice? (this doesn't have to be one of your beers but it can be)

I grab a Bud Lite once in a while... I went to The Ohio State University and so I grew up on Bud Lite. I suppose I'm supposed to say craft but keep in mind it's a beer and it always taste the same, may it be here, London, Cairo or Montreal. Always the same. There is a craft into it...
